like I said in an eamil before, if the laptop doesn’t start at all its not the harddrive thats at fault. It is the mainboard / powersupply. Otherwise it would at least get into the boot menu or make some other noises.
It is turned on but the display isn’t working.. Someone checked it and said it’s the hard disk.. Idk why they said the hard disk won’t load the bios or the os
ah ok, but then you should see some lights (like battery/wlan and shit) and hear things, I guess I then missunderstood what you wrote in the email… but still in no way shape or form can a hd cause problems with the display… wait so you do have the problem that you turn on the laptop but besides some sounds there is nothing coming from the display right?

open your laptop and check your RAM, try both modules alone and see if it starts

The hd problem is when I can still turn it on and see the display..
well the hd should have no impact on getting through the boot prozess only when its time to give control over to the os, then a broken hd makes troubles. But every problem before you see the windows loading screen is caused by something else.
That exactly what happened before.. Whenever the boot finished loading and wanted to enter windows, it enter bsod.. Now, the lights on the second line (with the can smbol) keep turning on. At first usually it blinks with the sound of hd spinning.. Now, it doesn’t blink.. And now the screen won’t turn on.. Got any idea?
and I guess now you don’t even get to see the booting screen either because your display doesn’t turn on?

Well even if you could open it and maybe find the faulty RAM you would still need a new hd, because that also looks like its broken… I guess some bluescreen must have done some major harm to the hardware… ugh so sad that I can’t help you…

It was 6 years old machine years anyway.. It’s 90 years old human age.. Hahah
well the last problem (status lights and maybe sounds from the fan) indicate a problem with the RAM or the mainboard. The first problem does indeed sound like a problem with the hd… how the fuck did it get from easy to fix (hd problem -> try an OS from a disk and see if it starts) to throw it away and buy a new one (need to open it check RAM, check for possible burn marks on the place where you connect your power cord, check for burn marks on transistors on your mainboard (for which you have to completly dissasemble your laptop), check for other irregularities on your mainboard…)

Ram can cause problems early in the bootup process (but then ram can cause an infinite number of bizarre problems, so it is almost always a possibility).
From what it sounds like to me is that the hd went bad first (or RAM of course) and then after sitting for 2 years *and possibly being knocked around* something else went bad.
The only things I can say is find someone with the tools and skill (or get your own tools and try to figure it out yourself using youtube as a guide) to:
1. Open the computer up
2. Clean the insides (it probably has a TON of dust in it, because computers are a dustbunny’s favorite hangout, and I have seen plenty of computers not go through startup processes due to dust.
3. check the display cable (will be a skinny ribbon cable) to make sure it is properly connected.
4.reassemble and hope for the best.
5. Yell at me for being wrong and that you still need a new computer.
Hahaha… Yeah.. I ordered a cheap hd from ebay.. Probably one month it will arrive altough the seller haven’t shipped it yet..
or you could ask some friends if they got an used computer that they need no more and can lend it to ya….
or buy it for cheap.
i kinda got myself this netbook from the store owner where i play YuGiOh at: Acer Aspire One D270. It sux as specs and is buggy, but i got it for 40 euros…
put Kubuntu on it (it supports both 32bit and 64bit actually so im still testing which is better), cleaned it inside, changed thermal grease….. and now im using it to spam here xD read mangas n watch animes…
so go ask friends, ppl you know, n stuff if they can help ya get a used cheap laptop. most ppl got a laptop or desk pc they dont wana throw away even if old….
The problem with my country is they have a high duty and tax for imported.. I was finding laptop on ebay for cheap, around 80$ but when it arrived here it could be 300$ +.. My friend buy a camera lens for 120$ and it becomes 360$ lol… At least I’m trying to buy something lower than 50$ to avoid it.. I got a hd for 30$..maybe it will arrive one more month? Let’s see if we could revive my dead laptop
