As I don’t have any clear idea on my original works and since I was stranded in this place and doing some community service in the afternoon so I decide make a special post. Hohohoh…
Some warning before you continue:
This is not a rant post.
This will encourage you to write.
The grammar was bad.
I don’t know if this will be a regular section but believe me you won’t regret reading this.
Class 001 – Everybody can write…
Hi, this is our first class. In this class you will learn some writing advice from me, your beloved author with a twisted mind. First, let me introduce myself.
I was born in West java. Sundanese is my traditional language. Indonesian is my national language, when I was 9 I learned English. Around that time, my father enrolled me at some Chinese class too. In the high-school I learned Japanese on my own. My English ielts score is already out last week, it is 7.5 not bad right, with 8.5 score in reading lol. My Chinese knowledge is equivalent to 4th grader. And Japanese really bad. I understand a little bit of writing because some characters were the same with Chinese but that’s it. however I could live in Japan without dying since I understand simple and basic daily life conversation.
You see, how twisted my background is? And anyway I successfully distracted your focus. It doesn’t have anything to do with writing.
Actually that is not important. The topic is, everybody can write. Believe me. This is true. Some may create a masterpiece, a rubbish, a hidden gem, but the point is everyone can write. They just don’t know how to start, finished it, or give your own personal touch to the story.
In this class I will teach you some secret. I learned this during my countless failures. Just look under Rebirth online original works. There are even more series that is half done, half polished in my phone memory. I failed enough to tell you on how to not follow my step to doom.
I am not professional or good at writing. But at least I can tell you the things that you have to avoid so you will not fail in writing your story.
Sure, everyone must have a great story in their mind whenever they started to write. But some of them failed to follow up their great idea and the result is, it is being abandoned in the middle of the process.
So, the lesson today is: the first step to write is not writing.
Believe me.
Your brains may be filled with sudden inspiration. You write 3 chapters instantly. But afterwards you can’t follow up what could be a masterpiece.
So, firstly before you write your prologue or first chapter, start with making a skeleton of your story. Example:
Title:
Main characters:
Side characters:
Arc 1
-What is going to happen?
-main /notable events
-conclusion from arc 1
Continue to arc 2
Arc 3
And finally, ending.
You may be confused seeing the ending there however Believe me. Thinking of how to end your story should be done in the beginning. If not, you will lost your way in the middle of it. This way, you can also try to guess how long your story will be. The skeleton is important too to determine the events that is going to happen, you can see the big picture of your soon to be grand works.
As people said, there are many ways to go to Rome. When you actually writes and in the middle of it, some of the arc may be changed or added or even removed but believe me you will reach the ending if you followed the path.
So, now your task is to do as instructed on top.
Define your story plot in arcs and of course the ending.
Series name:
MC:
Other:
Arc #
– remember 5W and 1 H, who, what, why, where, when and how (is it correct? Lol)
– notable events
– conclusion or the climax or resolution
I am giving you as many time as you need.
If you have finished, look at it once again.
See, don’t you think that you can write?
You have a great story line and it could be a masterpiece.
As I said before, everyone could write. Some just won’t spend time to write or pouring out their idea. If you try, don’t you think you can do it? I can even do it on my phone. Why can’t you do the same on the pc or laptop? Hahaha
So, quick write ten chapters and post it on our site. Hohohoh…
That’s it the end of our first class.. Now, please fill in this questionnaire as a feedback.

Good for native english people because they dont need to worry about these things. However for those who don’t really speak english have a hard time to make a understandable/ readable grammar. Well before you continue your lesson of world build or depth of tge feeling or what not. Let’s make the lesson at a basic level first before you gave them the advance lesson. My suggestion not about “Perfect grammar”, just make it readable should be enough for starter… oh well, that all i have to say.

Sure!
I don’t think what you said is necessarily true. The “think of an ending” and then build your story is an outliner type of guy.
There are inspirational writers like me, who have dots to connect, but midway find a little detail that can make their story better, thus every single thing they have thought of goes to dustbin.
Entire story writing starts from the scratch.
It is not the best method for publishing online, especially with deadlines.
As you have said, this “inspiration” can kill your story, as you may happen to not be able to follow up with your plot, but for me, who writes wonders under stress, it’s actually a good thing.
“If I can’t follow up my story, then who the hell can?!” – this kind of an arrogant attitude helps me personally, as a writer, to break through any writer blocks that occur.
To the most important parts, great idea doesn’t make a story. Great story-telling does.
What else is there… oh right, the 1st/3rd person style. I don’t think you should think of that before you choose your genre and characters. Let their voices speak, include the setting and the plot you’re trying to use, then you can think of “which narrative should I use”.
When you’re a new, “aspiring writer”, don’t think of “how bad will my story will be?”, just write. If you do, with time, you’ll improve. (do some research, ask others, especially your readers for opinions, to point out your mistakes and so on).
Don’t get discouraged when someone says “it’s bad, should be done like this and that.” All that means is this particular viewer thinks your story had potential that you might have not necessarily fleshed out. For an inexperienced writer that’s perfectly fine.
You’re writing to find your own style, what you can do with your characters. Basically testing the limits of your brain. Don’t give up and press forward.
Okay, this is becoming a rant, so I’ll end it here, maybe I should do my own “how to write series”, lol.
But you have to admit having a general outline as to where you want the story to start moving towards helps a lot. Relying on inspiration gets you like this wonderful starter of a story but if I finished that then started writing wily-nily, I often find myself scrapping like half of what I’ve already written feeling: “what is this shit.” lol.
I have to say I’m somewhere in between the inspirational and outlining type of person. Most of the inspirational stuff happening when I edit my writing.
And there was another advice I heard about writing: the more you write, the more inspiration comes? (Who the heck said that I don’t know.) So whether you suck or not just keep writing I guess.
Good luck on your own Loiterous rewrite. 🙂
For me it’s soem outline then inspirational creeps in. The problem with inspiration is that sometimes you want to create something so badly that you lose your focus on the novel.
Yeah, being too creative can hurt you.
As for “what is this shit” moment, I usually know what I want to write after reading such a paragraph. It helps you understand what your true goal is.
I wouldn’t recommend scrapping it, but thinking what’s wrong with it and then using it as a pointer to what’s right.
The more you write the more knowledge and experience you have, meaning that you can derive more from it.
For example, today I saw a starry sky with clouds approaching, the moon was shining brightly, but in the next second it was covered with something like smoke, it was a white cloud and then black clouds interjected, making the moon dimmer until it finally disappeared for a while.
I thought “That looks so awesome”, such a bizarre sight is better to describe than “cloudy sky on a moonless night” or some shit.
You can literally get inspiration from everywhere, although I think it often depends on the genre you write in.
For romance and so on I suggest talking with people who went through some relationships, might help you create the illusion of reality.
Wow, this became rather long. Thank you for the good wishes. Have fun with your writing, it’s a long ride.

gak nyangka ketemu penulis berbakat di sini. Sayang, di negara sendiri creative writing tidak berkembang dan pasarnya masih sedikit.
Anyway, good luck with your works and sorry for writing in Indonesian. I hope you can achieve , success. As a fellow writer, i hope that for sure.

2. Yes, this kind of things is what those new writers need and since i also need some pointers, the advice helps me a lot.
3. Hmmm… i don’t know… at first it was only an idea, then turn into a story, got longer, until finally, now there is basically 4 separate story that still connected with each other and the 4th one is actually like a back story and finale of the other 3 story…. so… i don’t know…
