as to mentioned Yandere refereed to girls/boys who kinda have screw lose, they will not care about other as long as her/his Partner save and still love them. in this case Marifa and Nina qualified after all
She’s not a yandere though. Search TVTropes for Violently Protective Girlfriend. She’s basically that, but just a little bit crazier. If she was a yandere, she would’ve killed Lena and Marifa a long time ago. Also, one of the defining characteristics of a yandere is that they’re harmful to their love interest. I’d say Nina is pretty beneficial for Yu. She’s just a bit…violently protective of him.

What I mean as yandere not need going around killing people or harming her/his love interest and more importantly not all yandere possessive and didn’t want to share to other people (like aina from wn lrvyd translated) yandere from terminology derived from “yanderu” (to be sick) and deredere who can be translated to be lovestruck. Basically yandere is girls/boys who have twisted way to love someone. If she just twisted loved someone she didn’t need to go far killing other who going to harm simple beat them already enough since I never think someone who able to kill calmly to be sane person. Even soldier still need post treatment mentally after war
See I know what the term yandere comes from, but that’s just not simply what it means completely. It’s not JUST that they love someone in a twisted way, but that it’s in a harmful way. They’re always psychotic in some way or another. Nina isn’t psychotic at all, she’s just a little overprotective of Yu. When she heard that those guys were going to hurt Yu, she dealt with them rather effectively, without bringing any harm to Yu. And you say that anyone who can kill calmly can’t be sane, but you have to recall that this is a different world with different standards. The reasons soldiers need PTSD treatment isn’t because they killed people per se, but because they have trouble adapting when they’re taken out of that high-stress environment and into the civilian life. Trust me on this, I’ve been a research assistant on studies pertaining to this exact matter (I’m a pre-med undergrad).
A very defining trait of a yandere is the possessiveness factor. It’s that whole “if I can’t have you, nobody can” thing. If she was a yandere, she would’ve forced her love onto Yu a long time ago, and whether he reciprocated or not, she would’ve tried to remove any perceived threats to their relationship.
If anything, she’s just a deredere character that also happens to be violently overprotective.
You keep mentioning this other WN, but if she’s not possessive, she’s likely not a yandere. If she’s considered a yandere still, she must have some other quality that qualifies her as a yandere (very controlling over her love interest’s life, or something like that). In any case, just calling someone a yandere doesn’t make them a yandere.

Haha yeah I always prefer a good civil discussion. Also, I read a bit more of the WN, and I don’t think she’s a yandere. People often have the misconception that a yandere is just someone who’s crazy and in love, but the very defining trait of a yandere is that she has to be in love with someone in a harmful way. In other words, the actions she takes out of “love” have to be harmful to her love interest from his point of view. It’s a common misconception though (like people not knowing what NTR means), so it’s not surprising.

just another note i read about what you mean about “Violently Protective Girlfriend” in case something like this the girls usually more stronger than her boy friend, well even yandere can be associated in this kind too thought. but what i mean in my first comment are how she actually have tendency as yandere and for the WN i mentioned above here The LINK https://larvyde.wordpress.com/joshiyuusha/ the example about non possessive Yandere she even want her man to spread his gene in that world

Its vague but the reason nina chose assasin as her 2nd job was for the purpose of something like that? Protecting yu, ambushes and whatnot, and why did marifa chose insect? Cant there be anything else? But only the insect got stated.. hmm? If its for like scouting.. yu got spectre for birds and such or even insects which he can make his.

Yeah i was gonna include poison and stuffs but Yu can do that with his spectre. Sure it would be an undead, so what? Her second job is like a degraded version of tamer job which focuses on beasts. Cant there be deeper job for tamer like a tamer master/lord which allow one to tame anything? It doesnt feel right.
The next chapter mentioned beast tamer though..
Marifa chose Insect Master to tame Bee’s to get honey so Yu can make more sweets!
