Chapter 3

In the middle of the night, Ryu is digging on the ground. After a while, he put his mother body on the hole, take one long last look and close the hole again. He is making a grave for his mother.

When he found out about his mother condition, he cried while hugging her lifeless body until he lost his consciousness and just wake up a couple of moments ago.

When he wake up, he wanted to blame the bully, they caused him to arrived late.

If only he arrived earlier.

However when his anger almost exploded, a scene flashed back.

his mother is sitting on the bed while he is trying to cut a fish on the table. The fish is still alive so it was hard to cut. It keep on moving on the table and leaving Ryu frustrated.

“Waaaa! Mother, how can it is so hard to kill a fish?”

Ryu was happy when he is able to catch a fish in the river since the chance of him getting fish is one in a few months. However when he want to cook it, he couldn’t kill the fish.

With a small giggle his mother said to him softly: “Ryu, it just show that the fish is so eager to live. Every living creatures has a will to live, including us humans. Even a 『Mythical beast』 has a will to live.”

“Is that why father goes to heaven? He doesn’t have a will to live?”

Ryu mother has tried to explained to him why he never see his father. With a sad eyes she told him.

“One day, your father meet a 『Mythical beast』. They both have a will to live however your father lost to the 『Mythical beast』. That’s why, you couldn’t blame your father or the 『Mythical beast』. If I have to tell you the reason, everyone is destined to go to heaven. We just don’t know when is our turn. No matter how big is your will to live, you can’t go against fate.”

even though Ryu mother couldn’t move from her bed, all this time she always tried to raise Ryu with all her might. That’s why she always tried to engraved to him, all about living wisdom and experiences.

When she found out one day the other children is bullying him, she explained to him slowly.

“Those children are jealous of you. After all, you could find your own food and take care of mother. Even if you don’t have a father, mother will always give all of my love for you. Maybe, their parents don’t have time to teach them how to be good to other. Maybe they don’t receive as much love as I love you. That’s why, you shouldn’t be angry or despise them. You should give them some of your love.”

Ryu remembered every moments that is being played in his mind.

“Even if you don’t have 【Power】, 【Power】 isn’t everything. Having 【Power】is good but mother hope you could grow to be a good man. Find a good wife and live a life far from danger.”

“Then, what about mother?”

“By the time you are married, mom will be able to take care of myself. You shouldn’t worry about me.”

“But, I will miss you.”

The last scene occurred just the day before the incident happened. Ryu remembered he hugged his mother afterwards. However, right now his mother is no longer there.

She won’t be waiting for him anymore.

She won’t show her smile for him anymore.

She won’t be there to teach him about live anymore.

The most important thing, she won’t be there to love him anymore.

Ryu stood silently in front of the grave.

He stood there for a long time. For the first time in his live, he feel lost. He don’t know what to do. He don’t know why but he finally realized how big his mother loved him.

“Mom… what should I do now that you’re not around?”

“Brother San, have you heard the news?”

“What is it Ichi, you are so noisy.”

“Brother San, do you remember the woman at the city outskirts?”

“Ah, that woman. Although she was disabled but I still remember her sweet taste. I can’t wait to visit her again.”
