Chapter 10

Another week has passed since Varn planted the magic seed. He always looking closely at it but there’s no changes. Soon, he regretted his decision for wasting 200 dungeon points on it.
But it all thanks to Alpha and Omega. They hunted for rabbits give him another dungeon points. His total points is now 40. Alpha and Omega also growing at a decent speed.

In this one week, Varn didn’t forget to train his body. This seven years old child is running and lifting rock. There isn’t a lot he can do in here since he lack dungeon points to create things. His body is slowly benefited from his farm works too. Tending the plants, shoveling and carrying harvest gives him a basic foundation for his body.

For him, in one week he was able to gathered around 15Dp from the wolves. To rank up to E, he needs 25000 point. At this rate, he need 1666.66 weeks or 32 years to rank up. It was too slow. Rather than killing 250 F rank dungeon raider to rank up, he find better idea. If one F rank dungeon need around 5000 Dp for creation and 2000 to 3000 for traps, if he could clear 3 or 4 F rank dungeon , he could upgrade his dungeon rank.

However to be a dungeon raider isn’t easy. He know how strong his father is and he was only a C rank dungeon raider. But his resolution was firm. He was wasting a lot of time farming not because he aspire to be a farmer. He was simply running away from his responsibility. He immersed himself in farming to forget about his pain. Every night he is crying alone thinking about his parents.
After one months inside the dungeon, Varn slowly changing his routine. He now spend less time farming and do more training.

He is now able to run for two hour before feeling tired and lift a rock as heavy as himself. But he know that it wasn’t enough. He need to learn combat skill later on. For right now, he decided to learn.

Learn? Yes.
He is reading the [Dungeon Control] book carefully. Afterall he is going to be a dungeon raider so he need to learned about others dungeon. He remembered the types of trap, artifacts, and monsters for F rank dungeon. He will be prepared once he stepped into another dungeon.

In the middle of a blizzard, two people dressed heavily is walking. It wasn’t strange for blizzard to occurs in the snow mountain ridge. Judging from their clothes, they are used to this.

“Brother, look at that! ”
” What is that? It wasn’t here before. ”
The two people is seeing something out of place. In the midst of heavy snow, a faint shadow of a big building can be seen.
” It wasn’t here before brother. ”
” Yes, I know that. Could it be, a dungeon? ”
” I don’t know. We better reported this to the guild hall. ”
However the one called brother couldn’t hold in his adventurous side.
” Mina, you wait here. I want to check it out. ”
” No brother, I want to come with you. ”
” Mina, this is dangerous. ”
” Then why you’re going inside? ”
” Erm.. If something happened to you, I don’t know what I’m going to do. ”
” That’s why it is safer if I go with you. Nobody knows what is going to happen to me out here.”
The brother look at his sister and knows nothing will change her mind.
“Alright. But you have to listen to everything I say. ”
” Yes.. ”

The big brother and little sister is taking a step closer to the building just to realized the real form of the big shadow is a twin tower ice castle.

Chapter 9

Each time a dungeon appears, the guild hall will immediatelly send someone to appraise the rank of the dungeon. It will gives them a better chance to lower the risk of dungeon raiders dying.

If an E rank dungeon raider entered an A rank dungeon, he will die for sure. That’s why the guild hall only permitted dungeon raiders to enter dungeon appropriate for their rank. As for A rank dungeon raider, they couldn’t entered an E rank dungeon. If they cleared E rank dungeon and it was all cleared, E rank dungeon raider won’t have a chance to gather experience to rank up.

That’s why guild hall have an important mission in administering dungeon and dungeon raiders.

They usually discovered a new dungeon by report. If someone reported a new dungeon eas sighted, a member of guild hall will come to appraise the dungeon rank. It was all possible because guild hall appraiser member have an artifact called [Dungeon Counter]. They just have to used the magnifier look a like artifact on the dungeon entrance. It was an easy task however there are only ten [Dungeon Counter] was found so far.

[Dungeon Counter] was an artifact from A rank dungeon and it was held by a guild hall member that is capable. The ten guild hall appraiser was called the “order of ten wisdom”. They are required to remember the guild hall manual book, list of monsters, artifacts, and traps. When they finished appraising a dungeon, they will make a description about the dungeon.

For instances, West land dungeon, C rank. Characteristic, dry land/desserts, fire and earth characteristic. Possible monsters, artifacts, and traps. It was described in the report of “order of ten wisdom”. That’s why many dungeon raider waited for the appraisal process to be completed. It increased their chance of clearing the dungeon by leaps of bounds.

Today, a report come in to the guild hall. It was about a discovery of a new dungeon. At such times, the “order of ten wisdom” are gathered.
“Silver, is what you said is true? Is this report is correct?”
Inside a room, ten people were sitting around a round table. The one who speak is an old man in robe. He seemed to be the oldest and the leader of the “order of ten wisdom”.

“Yes, I have gone there with Danny. The dungeon that appears at Bruit village have a rank of SS.”
Silver is the one who asnwered. He was the person that met with Varn at the Bruit village ruin. All the member of the “order of ten wisdom” are in panic.
“SS rank dungeon? It is the first time in history. Is there no mistake in this report?”
“I have checked it seven times using [Dungeon Counter]. There is no mistake.”
“Sarmon, what should we do?”
Sarmon seemed to be the name of the old man earlier.
“Don’t worry. Let’s disclose about this information for now. No words should left this room. Is there anyone who knows about this?”
“Rick and the steelclaw group happened to know about the dungeon but they haven’t hear about the details.”
“Good. Please keep this matter confidential and handle this matter seriously. We’re not ready for this.”
“Understood.”
The SS rank dungeon is the first one in history. Even for S rank dungeon, the guild hall only have 5 S rank dungeon raider. How could they are able to raid an SS rank dungeon?
“I think that’s all for today. Anyone have anything to add?”
In the silence, another old man with glasses raised his hand.
“Yes, Moldov, what is it?”
“I was planning to retire.”
“What?”
“Don’t worry. I already have someone to take my position.”
“Who is it?”
Sarmon asked solemly.
“It’s my grand daughter. Christel.”
“Are you serious? She is only six years old.”
“I already think of that. She will be my assistant at first. Maybe in a few years she will be ready.”
“If that’s your decision then I will approve of it. Afterall Christel is a bright child.”
“Thank you Sarmon.”
“I think that’s it for today. Silver I leave Rick and the steel claw group to you. Moldov, please teach Christel so she will be a good member of the ten wisdom in the future.”
After that one by one the member of “order of ten wisdom” leave the room.

Varn is humming while tending to his plants. His plants could grow even though his dungeon is on icy region because he spent 500 dungeon points on agriculture control on one level of his dungeon. The effect of agriculture control is changing the temperature to 15-50 degree celcius of choice and increased the growth of plants by several times.
He was reading his [Dungeon Control] at the same time while tending to his plants. It also have some explanation about the plants and other information.
His eyes however fixated at a certain parts after a notification pops out.

“Congratulations! You have succesfully grown 100 different types of plants and sustained their life for one week. You are granted the option to grow magical plants from magic seed.”

“Magic Seed: 200 Dungeon points.”

Varn eyes couldn’t move from there.
“Magic seed…”
His eyes were sparkling reading the description.
“Magic seed is a seed that have been imbued with magic. The plants that will be grown is varies.”
Varn aspire to be a farmer at first before his fate lead him to a different future. A magic seed is something he couldn’t missed. Magical plants that will come out from it will bear magical fruits or vegetable. How could he resist the temptation?

“I have decided. I will be a magic farmer!”

That night Varn planted a small seed on the ground.

Master of Dungeon chapter 8 – early days

Varn summoned two controlled wolf at the cost of 200 dungeon points. Now he only have 250 remaining.

He is amazed when he summoned the wolves, they are formed out of thin air into a four legged shape and with a blinding light, they are summoned.

“Congratulations! You have successfully summoned two controlled wolf.”

“Okay.. I’m going to call you Alpha and Omega.”

“Awooo..”

The wolves are howling. They understand what he said and they seemed happy.

“Now, Alpha, Omega, please make baby wolf for me. Lot’s of them alright?”

“Huung?”

The two wolves are tilting their head in confusion. They didn’t understand what Varn mean.

“Ugh.. Did I just spent 200 dungeon point for nothing?”

Varn completely blank about this. He knows alot about plants but farm animal and livestock?

There’s also a problem of food. The wolves need food. He couldn’t feed them apples and cabbages. They need meat.

“Ugh..” Varn could feel his head is aching. This will be harder than he thought.

He sat down and think, could he bring them outside of the dungeon? If he could do it, he could let them hunt for their own food.

“Alpha, Omega. Follow me!”

He get out of the dungeon with the two wolves. Varn have some trouble with the cold but his wolves doesn’t have any problem.

“Now, you should hunt for your own food. There should be a lot of animal nearby. You could even go to that forest. It is still within the dugeon territory.”

“Awooo.”

The wolves nodded and howled. They understand what their master is saying.

However right now Varn think again. Where would the wolves live? He need to make a barn for them? At least, a small shelter for sleeping right?

With the last 250 dungeon points, he spent 50 to create a simple shelter for them. And keep the 200 dp for emergency.

“Right now, I should train my self. Even though I couldn’t get points from breeding monster in my dungeon, I could still raid other dungeon and steal the points spend.”

At first day, he have trouble sleeping in a new place. What’s more he is sleeping in the tower of the ice palace. The emptyness in the air makes him cried while thinking back of his warm house with his Father and Mother.

At the second day, he trained hard to distracted himself from loneliness.

At the third day, he engrossed himself in his garden.

At the fourth day, he was exhausted and have to stayed in bed.

At the fifth day, he makes a plan to keep a balanced life.

Just like that, Varn goes trough his daily life.

He spend six hours training, two hours playing with his wolves, six hours sleeping and ten hours at his garden that is now turning into a big fields.

Living alone in the secluded snowy area, he didn’t neglect his responsibilty. He will get stronger so one day he could revenge his parents.

There are no problem with his wolves too. At first he was worried thay they couldn’t find food but it turn out fine. They even gives him 1dungeon points for the rabbit that they killed. He even gives them freedom. They only need to come when he called for them and spent some time each day to play with them.

At the seventh day, he realized that there’s something different from his wolves. They have grown, it was bigger than the wolves that attacked his village. They are covered in silver and blue fur which makes it gleaming.

“Congratulations! Due to the environment of your dungeon, it has evolved. Your wolf has been evolved into ice wolf.”

Aaah.. Varn realized because of his dungeon located in the snow mountain ridge, they have taken ice into their properties.

He stroke their smooth fur and smiled. Because of their existence he isn’t so lonely.

“Maybe breeding monster isn’t that bad.”

“What?”

 

“It’s the same right, you’ll be a farmer. But instead of focusing on plants you’ll be growing live stocks. Just like chicken, cows, lambs, in this case it will be monster.”

 

Varn just keep shook his head.

“If what you said is true, then is some one is practicing this method?”

 

“Huk huk huk.. Of course.. There is… None..” Ferluci start replying with a smile that is slowly disappearing.

 

“See! This method have some flaw and fault. If not, why no one is farming monster like you said?”

 

“That’s because.. That’s because no one is willing to listen to me!”

Ferluci is now pouting which doesn’t fit his age.

 

“They always send me away whenever I approached them. When I redesigned their dungeon entrance they destroy their dungeon and create a new one. They don’t even greet me anymore!”

 

Varn thinks inside his heart. “That’s what I should do from the start.”

 

“Eitherway, this is what you want right? I already tell you the method to gathers dungeon point without even killing a human.”

 

Varn swallowed his words and indeed this is what he yearn for. Seeing Varn fell into silence, Ferluci tried to talk.

“See, I’m not lying here. They all look down on me and my ability but I’m a true dungeon watcher. My words weight gold and if you trust me, you won’t regret it.”

 

Varn thinks again and with a bit of pity he agreed with Ferluci suggestion.

“Alright! I’ll give it a try. Now, tell me what I have to do!”

 

“Yes! Finally someone is listening to me. First, let’s familiarize yourself with the dungeon building. Try to install some traps.”

 

After that Varn was taught about placing traps, traps requirements, placing monsters, artifacts ability and uses. He even learn how to add levels, rooms, miscellanous things and after the tutorial ended, he regained all of the point spent on the way. It was really a good thing to have Ferluci teaches him. Others usually ignored him and do a self learn on dungeon control.

 

“Seeing you have know all of the basic, my job here is done. I suggest you make a special level for you to make a special traing grounds on different level from your monster farm. You want to be as strong as an A rank adventurer to take revenge after all. It will be usefull and cheaper in the long run than depending on A rank monster. Okay, I take my leave then!”

 

“Wait! You forget to teach me on how to farm monster!”

 

“Aaah.. Right.. How could I missed it. It’s simple you could start with any number of monster but two monster will give birth to one child monster at first. Then the parents may produce more offspring. Their offspring will involved with each other and produce more children and continued to multiply at a decent rate. That’s all, like breeding a chicken.”

 

After saying that Ferluci has gone from his sight. Varn was left there with a question mark.

“Is it as easy as he mentioned? I better think about it later. I will also need to create a training ground. Ferluci said something reasonable. I need to reach at least A rank as a dungeon raider. I want to be able to kill my parent’s killer using my own hand.”

 

Varn then start to make a calculation. What he’s going to place, where he’s going to put it, he planned it well. His living quarter, daily needs, it was also listed down along with their dungeon point cost. After few hours taking notes, he finally finished.

At first he have 10.000 dungeon points. After creating his dungeon he only have 5000 remaining. The first thing he set up is his living chamber. He create a comfortable room and a bathroom with a large tub. For all of that he spend 500 dungeon points. His dungeon have three level. He is going to divide it like this. The first level is going to be his monster farm.The second level going to be fields for planting crops. And the third level is going to be his training chamber. He didn’t have to worry about having to walk to the third or second level because a dungeon master could utilize teleport inside their dungeon.

 

He decided to do it from the bottom level first. At the third level, he create a decent training ground. He create some weapons for 300 dungeon points. To redesign the whole level to make a running ground, a weaponry, and some strength training environment, he spent 700.

 

At the second level he create a mini farm field. It is needed for his daily life and he spent 3050 dungeon points for it. He may overdid his work in creating his “mini” farm until it looks like a plant-o-torium. He may not realized it but he don’t want to give up his dream.

 

He finally arrived at the first level.

“Now, let’s see how we’re going to create our monster farm.”

 

He looked at his remaining dungeon points. “What!”

His 10.000 dungeon points now only 450 remains.

“Huk! How is this possible?”

 

To breed his first monster, he need a lot of it.

“Wolves: 100 Dungeon points (controlled) 50 Dp (free willed). Goblin: 200 Dungeon points (controlled) 100 Dp (free willed).”

 

He could have four controlled wolves or nine free willed, two goblin or four free willed. He is now mumbling.

“wolves or goblin.. Wolves or goblin…”

 

He is in dillema. After almost one hour he couldn’t choose any of them until he realized one fatal thing.

“Anyway, how do you breed wolves or goblin?”

 

Ferluci may know it and it was easy. We just need to make sure the female is engaged with the male in “baby making” procedure. However for a seven years old Varn, how could he know?
