I feel like the blonde haired hero is the actual hero in the story. He could go from spoiled hero to a real hero by letting hardships shape him. All the difficulties he has to overcome just to defeat Furio.
I like to think of them as the story’s Team Rocket: try to profit/ defeat the main/ side characters and failing miserably. They only need to be blown out to the sky.
Yes I can’t see a hero, I see the team rocket, well even in poke they were strong compared to normal trainers, remember that ash “motherfuc*er” Ketchum can lift 300kg with a hand run 3km and don’t drop a single drop of sweat
