I think he´s nonly pretending to be set on war to see how capable the human country really is.
By making demands that should be impossible one after another he can check what the humans are capable of in logistics.
Though in this case I think he is fully aware that the humans couldn´t do it so he would actually not be testing the humans right now but Seiji´s abilities as he probably already figured it out that it´s only thanks to Seiji for the human to know about the goblins and to be able to meet his demands.

From the look of things it seems like what demon king really want is war after all. The appraisal incident is just his excuse to start it. At first he wants to meet human king right away even when he know he’s far way, then even the reward demand, although not really all that high is actually impossible to prepapre by the end of the day without . I bet the demands will get more rodiculous later on like wanting the princess or his sister just to make them give up

this chapter was a bit longer which is reasly nice for a change…. hope this continues. for me the chapters were just way too short even for a web novel. someone mentioned in the comments that there’s no love between mc and hime but it seemed pretty clear that at least she really likes him romantically. i asked my girlfriend about it and she said that girls, no matter how loose they are, don’t just date anyone, and that also goes for sleeping together in the same bed.
