Why are orcs considered to be humanoid pigs in most Japanese fantasy stories? Who started that orc=pig thing in Japan? Does anyone know?
It kinda was derived from Tolken, though he never said “pig like” people often attached pig features to Orcs, be it simple tusks / upturned noses / smell to full on pig heads. As for Japan, they probably got on the more pig side of the train due to Dragon Quests depiction of them, though they are sorta effected by ours, for every 3 pig heads you get one green roid machine.
