Episode 12: Hunting bandit ②

Nina learned [body enhance] in a week. I… needed two weeks for that.

Nina released the skill.

“UU… Tired..”

If you’re not familiar with your mana control you’re going to run out. Just like Nina who ran out of MP.

“Nina. When you’re in battle, you can’t let down your guard and lose your control of mana.”

“I know, this skill is great. It could enhance your body and strengthen it.”

“Alright. After practicing let us go to the village. I want to see if I could get some potion recipes.”

“Okay.. I also need to buy some things. But, I don’t think you’re going to find potion recipe unless you’re in the big city.”

Ah.. There’s no potion recipe in the village!

“I could also use some potions.”

“Will they sell it to you?”

“I have you here. Why should I worry? Shoo.. Buy it now.”

“Che..”

Nina is pouting.

After I walked alone to the mountain I can hear Nina screaming “Baka..”

We got information about bandits in the area. They kidnap people, take water and food. Judging from their victim area I could make a guess about their location. I bring a knife for dismantling which I borrowed from Nina.

When facing the group of bandits it will be better for me to kill them one by one. However my luck is bad.

“You! What are you doing here.”

I was a little surprised because of a voice coming from behind. It was outside of my [Awareness] area.A man dressed in bandit outfit stands there.

Whoa.. Is it because of the Hawk eyes that he could notice me?

“Brat, you didn’t answer me?”

I need to play it low for now.

“Sorry. I was coming to the mountain to gather herbs but it seems like I’m lost. Can you show me the way back?”

“I don’t know.”

(“Black eyes and hair. His appearance isn’t bad. I could sell him to some noble and get a lot of money for it. It’s my luck!”) he is appraising Yus body.

While the bandit was silently appraising him, Yu is activating his [Depriver] trying to take the special skill. He tried many times but failed. After dozens of attempt, his head is stinging with pain. Is it that my skill level isn’t high enough?

(TL note: I didn’t sure if he just trying to steal the special skill or he has stolen the other skills. Let’s wait for his status to show up.)

“Okay, what’s the name of your village? Vivid village?”

“No, it’s Resser Village.”

“Ooh.. Resser village is that way.”

That man is pointing to the opposite direction of the real Resser village. Yu could see that he is taking him to his camp.

(“It’s funny, this brat comes here without any suspicion and is listening to me. However, is he hiding something? His right hand keeps being close to his right leg.”)

“You, is that true you lost your way when collecting herbs?”

“That’s true. Why?”

“On our way, you didn’t lose your breath. You don’t seemed to be tired.”

“Oh..”

The bandit noticed that the air around him is changed. His right hand prepared to take a dagger that he hides, strapped on his right leg.

“I now know the location of your hideout. Anyway, how many people are there?”

“Hah? Are you out of your mind brat?”

“Uncle.. I know you’re a level 15 thief. It’s easy for me to kill you.”

(“He knows my level and job. Analysis skill?”)

“Just knowing my level or skill you believe you could defeat me? What is your level?”

He takes a stance and could escape to his hideout anytime he wants. He could call for reinforcement.

“It’s level 8. I have no job. Is there something wrong?”

“Just level 8. Mere level 8 trying to kill level 15?”

(“Is this boy crazy? It seemed I worried for nothing.”)

The moment he lets his guard down, two fireballs are launched. The old man keeps standing in surprise.

“Wha.. How can you use magic?”

“It’s only a fireball. A basic spell.”

“Stupid! I know that.. but you cast two of them at the same time. Without chanting! How did you do it brat?”

Although he was surprised, but he manages to dodge it by hairs breadth. I approach him while taking out the dagger.

“[Dagger strike]!”

It was a dagger skill that enhances the power of thrusting and inflicts critical hits but of course it didn’t trigger because I deprived it from him.

“[Dagger strike]!“

That technique, I unleashed it on him. It struck the gaps between his armor.

“Aaaah…”

That uncle crouched down and holding his abdomen.

“Please… Spare my life…”

I used this opportunity to get information from him. The number of bandits is around ten to twelve. They are selling the children and woman they kidnap as slaves. They also have some treasure.

“Wait.. You promised to spare my life..”

“If that’s so, aren’t the children and women asking for help?”

“No.. That’s different..”

I didn’t wait any longer and activate the dagger skill. [Dagger strike Lvl 2]. The power cuts open the uncles stomach. In the process, the dagger that I borrowed from Nina shattered. It couldn’t withstand the power.

“I’m sorry Nina. I’ll make it up to you later.”

I walked near the bandit’s hideout. However, I can only sense one person. Did that uncle lie or are they not inside their hideout. I didn’t care. It increase my winning percentage anyway.

Wait.. There’s two corpses on the ground. And that’s.. Nina?

“Nina.. Why are you here?”

With a big big smile she replied.

“I decided that it was more fun to tail Yu.”

She.. She neglect my order and followed me here. My eyes fall on her and saw her status.

Her skills have leveled up once again. Maybe it’s because the combination of [silent step],[stealth],[stalking] that she is even hardly detected by [awareness]. What’s more ridiculous is, that Nina skills are going up day by day. Even I, who deprives skills from others, am still left behind by her progress.

“It’s tiring.. Let’s get back to Stella. Let’s see what she is going to say if she knew you’re going alone to exterminate bandits.”

“I was just randomly walking! But you, what are you doing here? Didn’t I ask you to go to the village?”

“I was going to go the village after making a short trip to here.”

“You! If you’re caught and kidnapped, what am I going to do?”

Yu comes and gives Nina a dekopin. (TL note: a flick of finger on the forehead)

“Auch.. It hurts… Huhuhu..”

Nina is pressing her temple with her hand.

“Now, I can report the bandit quest too.”

“Eh, there’s such quest?”

“You don’t know? It was five gold coins! Five!”

“Alright. But I want to check their treasury first.”

For a group of bandits to have five gold coins on their head, they should have a lot of good treasure right? He gets inside and opened a hidden chest. He knows about it from the uncle before.

(TL note: the author really comes up with strange names only to call that person uncle afterwards. What’s the use in stating their name lol.)

Antidote potion recipe and poison recipe.

“Nina.. Even their loot is good.” Yu throws the pendant to her. Nina looks at it.

“Shadow pendant (grade 5): can avoid the effect of [analysis Lvl 3]. It can also hide the wearers status.”

I wonder if the effect will be triggered when someone wears it.

“Nina.. This dagger and knife is for you.”

“Really? I kinda wanted it when I first saw it.”

“Yeah..” it was also a compensation for her dagger that I broke earlier.

Since she received the dagger and knife, her mood has been increased. Today, I will give a finishing touch to the bath.

“Nina, you should go to the village to sell the equipment from the bandits. This is your punishment for going against my order.”

“Uuuuu… All right..”

From tomorrow on, while training with Nina, I could try making potions.

Ah… I didn’t have a chance to deprive them. Because when they are already dead, then my still doesn’t work. Nina is asking me.

“Don’t you feel anything wrong? You just killed two people.”

“No. They tried to kill me and I killed them instead. It’s that simple.”

That’s right. In my eyes, I already lost the value of life.

“Nina, later on I’ll teach you [body enhance].”

Because we became friends, I at least want to give her something. I couldn’t teach [Depriver] or let her know about this or it will be a problem.

“What? You’re going to teach me a skill?”

“Yes, after all I do know that you haven’t learned it.”

“Whoa. Do you have an analysis type of skill?”

“It’s not exactly an analysis skill. I could see all the skills that someone has. It is no different from the one stated on your guild card though.”

“Really? If that’s so, then tell me mine.”

Nina also takes out her guild card for confirmation. The difference is hometown, age, sex, and rank isn’t displayed if I use my eyes ability.

I then gained information from Nina about the guild card.

1. There are 10 guild ranks from SSS, SS, S – G. Most people start at G rank.

2. It is also serves for identification.

3. Your growth will be automatically recorded in the guild card.

4. You can hide your status on the guild card.

“Come to think of it, there’s some info that isn’t displayed even when I use my eyes ability.”

“Rather than asking me about that, how did you execute a skill before without chanting?”

“You know? Most skills could be activated without chanting.”

“Eeeh? No way. I never heard of someone activating their skill without chanting.”

“You know, it isn’t exactly without chanting. I just recited the chant inside my head.”

“What? Is that possible?”

I cast [body enhance].

“Can you feel the mana? I already casted my skill.”

“Nina, do you think we can sell those guys equipment at Resser village?”

Nina isn’t sure because the spear was split in half, and the other stuff isn’t even worth mentioning. They then decided to just go back to Stella’s house.

“Grandma Stella, I’m back.”

“Yu welcome back! Nina! I’m surprised you came too.”

“Stella, good evening.”

“Hehe. Looks like you’ve become friends.”

“Yes, thanks to you.”

After that they go chatting in an excited tone. The dinner we have is bread and hirbed rabbit soup. Because Grandma Stella recently overworked herself, she needs nutrition.

“Grandma, did you cook more rice?”

“You can eat until you’re full.”

“Alright!”

Nina is eating like crazy. I too don’t want to lose.

“Speaking of it, Yu. I heard people in the village saw bandits in the mountains. When you go there to gather herbs, be careful! They kidnapped women, children and sold them as slaves.”

“Understood. We will be careful.”

“Now, Nina-chan you can stay here for tonight.”

Nina gave me a quick glance and replied.

“Of course Grandma Stella. I’ll be glad to.”

“Eh?”

“You could sleep together.”

“Eeeehhh?”

“Man and woman under 20 sleeping together isn’t that strange.”

“But, isn’t Nina scared of men?”

“You’re going to sleep together… Go to the civil office… And register…”

I could feel Nina clinging to me. I’m tired of this..

Master of Dungeon chapter 8 – early days

Varn summoned two controlled wolf at the cost of 200 dungeon points. Now he only have 250 remaining.

He is amazed when he summoned the wolves, they are formed out of thin air into a four legged shape and with a blinding light, they are summoned.

“Congratulations! You have successfully summoned two controlled wolf.”

“Okay.. I’m going to call you Alpha and Omega.”

“Awooo..”

The wolves are howling. They understand what he said and they seemed happy.

“Now, Alpha, Omega, please make baby wolf for me. Lot’s of them alright?”

“Huung?”

The two wolves are tilting their head in confusion. They didn’t understand what Varn mean.

“Ugh.. Did I just spent 200 dungeon point for nothing?”

Varn completely blank about this. He knows alot about plants but farm animal and livestock?

There’s also a problem of food. The wolves need food. He couldn’t feed them apples and cabbages. They need meat.

“Ugh..” Varn could feel his head is aching. This will be harder than he thought.

He sat down and think, could he bring them outside of the dungeon? If he could do it, he could let them hunt for their own food.

“Alpha, Omega. Follow me!”

He get out of the dungeon with the two wolves. Varn have some trouble with the cold but his wolves doesn’t have any problem.

“Now, you should hunt for your own food. There should be a lot of animal nearby. You could even go to that forest. It is still within the dugeon territory.”

“Awooo.”

The wolves nodded and howled. They understand what their master is saying.

However right now Varn think again. Where would the wolves live? He need to make a barn for them? At least, a small shelter for sleeping right?

With the last 250 dungeon points, he spent 50 to create a simple shelter for them. And keep the 200 dp for emergency.

“Right now, I should train my self. Even though I couldn’t get points from breeding monster in my dungeon, I could still raid other dungeon and steal the points spend.”

At first day, he have trouble sleeping in a new place. What’s more he is sleeping in the tower of the ice palace. The emptyness in the air makes him cried while thinking back of his warm house with his Father and Mother.

At the second day, he trained hard to distracted himself from loneliness.

At the third day, he engrossed himself in his garden.

At the fourth day, he was exhausted and have to stayed in bed.

At the fifth day, he makes a plan to keep a balanced life.

Just like that, Varn goes trough his daily life.

He spend six hours training, two hours playing with his wolves, six hours sleeping and ten hours at his garden that is now turning into a big fields.

Living alone in the secluded snowy area, he didn’t neglect his responsibilty. He will get stronger so one day he could revenge his parents.

There are no problem with his wolves too. At first he was worried thay they couldn’t find food but it turn out fine. They even gives him 1dungeon points for the rabbit that they killed. He even gives them freedom. They only need to come when he called for them and spent some time each day to play with them.

At the seventh day, he realized that there’s something different from his wolves. They have grown, it was bigger than the wolves that attacked his village. They are covered in silver and blue fur which makes it gleaming.

“Congratulations! Due to the environment of your dungeon, it has evolved. Your wolf has been evolved into ice wolf.”

Aaah.. Varn realized because of his dungeon located in the snow mountain ridge, they have taken ice into their properties.

He stroke their smooth fur and smiled. Because of their existence he isn’t so lonely.

“Maybe breeding monster isn’t that bad.”

Zombie master chapter 13 – words

“O..neee..chan…”

A hoarse voice is coming out from Azuri.

Her eyes in the dark is brightly glowing in red. Anba and Yu know what it means.

“Azuri..?”

“Azuri-chan?”

They understand they couldn’t speak loudly because there’s a zombie nearby but, does Azuri turned into a zombie?

“Uuuaaaaahh!”

Azuri suddenly roared like a wild beast. It is enough for the two to consider she has turned into a zombie.

“Waaah”

The two realized the moment Azuri let out a sound, her position is in danger. What’s more there’s another zombie outside.

“Creak..”

The flooring was crushed by a hand near their location. The scream from Azuri clearly have lured the one which is searching for them.

They quickly crawled and trying to get out from beneath the floor. They looked back and saw a pair of gleaming red eyes peeking from the hole.

They don’t even have the strength to scream. They must escape immediately. However when they get out from beneath, their leg lost it’s power. They have crouched down for almost two hour below the floor and it is possible for their legs to have cramp because of sudden movement. As if giving a horror, the pursuing zombie is approaching near.

“Club president..”

The zombie infront of their eyes is the tea ceremony club president. If things goes well Anba will take over her position next year. Her name is Terashima. Her face didn’t shiw any sign of gentle smile that she used to have and just looking at them expressionless.

Anba and Yu hugged each other. Their body are trembling. They are waiting for their end. As Terashima coming closer, they tightly closed their eyes.

However that decisive moment never come. Terashima hand never reached them.

“Azuri…?”

Anba gather her courage and opened her eyes. There he saw Azuri holding Terashima.

“Azuri.. Are you helping us to escape?”

Anba is hoping for a reply but Azuri is showing the same blank face as Terashima.

“Anba-senpai.. Should we flee now?”

“It’s dangerous to run away aimlessly. We don’t know how many zombie out there. Maybe, Azuri will protect us here.”

Even if she said that, there’s no guarantee that Azuri will help them in the future. There’s even a chance for her to attack Anba. However Anba wanted to believe in her sister.

Azuri couldn’t move and keep holding Terashima.

Should Anba remained here or run away?

While Anba couldn’t decide a sound of door slammed open and footstep from a man running could be heard.

“Anba! Azuri! Are you here?”

Takumi reached the school guided by the GPS and when he visit their school in cultural festival, he remember they were a member of tea ceremony club. Therefore he could find this place.

“Onii-chan!”

Anba shout with lots of mixed emotion. She didn’t think it was possible for her brother to come.

The first thing that Takumi saw when he arrived is Anba hugging another girl, Azuri also doing the same thing but she is holding someone back.

Takumi bit his lips when she aware that Azuri eyes and the girl she holding is red.

“Azuri!”

Despair fiil his heart. He was late. It’s his fault for not coming earlier. But somehow, why is she holding back another zombie?

“Azuri.. What happened to you..”

“O…ni…ch…an…..”

Takumi couldn’t believe what he heard. There’s a rumour about flying zombie, huge zombie and other type on the net. He couldn’t believe in those rumour but he couldn’t even believe that Azuri just spoke. There’s no one mentioning a talking zombie.

(TL note: oh no.. Zombie type spoiler?)

“Anba.. And. Uh..”

“Kisaragi Yu-chan. She’s Azuri friend.”

“I see. Anba and Kisaragi, stay here. I’ll take Azuri and the other zombie outside to make sure it’s safe.”

“Okay.. But, Onii-chan. It’s dangerous.”

“Don’t worry I’m already get used to it. I can prove it by coming here safely from my apartment.”

Anba could only nods while looking at Takumi anxiously.

“Azuri, come with me outside while keep holding her.”

It is a simple instruction but Takumi didn’t know if it will works to Azuri. Afterall she could speak. Takumi then look out first for other zombie while waiting for Azuri to come out.

“Oni.. Chan…”

Azuri comes out but she walks slowly. Anba also approaches him.

“Brother, Azuri is…”

“I have told you to wait inside. Anyway, who is she? The one Azuri is holding.”

“It’s the tea ceremony club president.”

Yu is the one answering on behalf of Anba. They finally returned from their shocked state.

“If that’s the case I will release her in a remote area.”

“What, isn’t that dangerous Onii-chan?”

“Don’t worry. Trust me. You two wait here alright.”

Takumi strokes her head and comes out of the tea house with Azuri. After they moved pretty far from the tea house, he check their surrounding to make sure nobody is around.

“Azuri that’s enough. You could release her.”

When she heard that, her grip lossened. If it was any other human, the club president could jumped and attack him. Because there’s only Takumi and Azuri, she stayed still too.

“Alright, please stay here.”

Takumi first go to examine Azuri. He reaffirm that her eyes is red. There’s a bite scar on the arm. He concludes that indeed she has turned into a zombie. Her face also expresionless. However, there’s something that makes her special.

“Oni…chan..”

She can speak. She could repeat her words instead of zombie’s meaningless groan voice.

She also keep calling him brother. It is indicatung that Azuri is able to recognized him. Judging from zombie could do instruction based on their habit when still alive, it is possible that she retained her memory when she is still alive.

“Hey, are you perharps still have your consciousness Azuri?”

Takumi grab her shoulder and asked. However she is just looking at him with a blank expression.

“If you are still have your consciousness please nod. If your understand my words, please nod.”

Takumi is waiting for her reply with expectation however she keep silent.

“This is bad.”

Takumi is feeling sad. Just thinking he couldn’t see her carefree smile again, tears come out naturally.

He first want to check his family safety and neglects it while he is playing around. If only he search for them sooner. He who was keeping of his own safety inside his room. He blamed himself. If only he decided to leave his apartment one day earlier.

However the milk has been spilled. Nothing can change the flow of time.

“Onii….. Chan….”

Takumi surprised by Azuri. She was gripping his body and making sure that he couldn’t flee. She move her hand towards his nether area and gently stroking his private trough the fabric.

“Oni..chan….”

Altough zombie didn’t attacked him, sometimes zombie just come running after him. He didn’t know their intention. As long as he remember. Many woman zombie is trying to approach him with unknown intention. He didn’t instructed them and asked them to stand still. Maybe if he didn’t stop them they are going to do what Azuri is doing right now.

What Azuri is doing right now…

“That’s not good. Azuri.. Stop!”

Hearing his words, Azuri stopped.

“Is that.. What they’re trying to do is….. But I’m not sure. For now, Azuri, wait here.”

Takumi wiped his forehead eventhough he is not sweatinf. But his heart is beating hard. He has to shift his gaze and it fall not far from her.

There’s a beautiful girl. She is not pretty as Anba or Azuri but still pretty. Maybe it was because her blank face. If only she was normal, she could steal many man heart.

Recently some people already applied as editor.. It will take some time before my email is fixed but you can expect before the ends of the weeK I will contact you all who have applied..

If there’s anyone else that want to join, you could leave your email first here and wait for me to contact you..

For status updates, you could expect zombie master chapter 13 to come out today, TDADP 11 , TDADP 12(30% maybe can be released today), Dungeon master (10%, possible release tommorrow).

And tommorrow I will be going out of town so the release of chapter scheduled tommorrow may be delayed for a day…

Finally, we will apply for flair at reddit.. So, if there’s a someone that want to apply to be a translator (Pick up a project and post it here) you may get the flair as well…
