〈Wood Garden〉 dungeon, 12thF. Charon and the remaining members of the ‘Authority Leaf’ clan were running with all their might.

“Charon, there’s a fork in front. Which way?”
“Right, that is a shortcut to go to 11thF so we take the left. That brat will catch up if we’re slow. After turning, there will be a grassland. We walk past the tunnel and there is a fountain. If there are no monsters there, we can escape using the teleport pedestal from over there.”

Charon wasn’t aware that near their destination, there was already someone waiting for them.

“We’ve been waiting for you.”
Marifa greeted the party while lifting the edge of her skirt graciously.
Charon was confused at the sight. Why was there a dark elf dressed in a maid uniform here?

“What do you want? We’re in a hurry.”
The party drew their weapon and looked menacing but Marifa just smiled at them before the next second her face turned expressionless.

“In place of my master… I have to give you guys a lesson.”

“Darn, is she one of the brat’s companions?”

In a flash, one of the men had already pulled his bow and mounted his arrow. The projectile flew like a lightning and aimed in between Marifa’s eyebrows. However the arrow never reached Marifa. Sukke, who was standing behind her, stopped the arrow using the fur on its body that was extended forward.
(Tl note: somehow I imagined the fur to be like long hair flying in the air lol)

“What’s that? A Sheepwolf blocked my arrow?”
“Stupid, that sheepwolf is only a rank 3 monster. How can it block your arrow?”

Charon looked at his party hopelessly and erected a 【Barrier】 once Marifa took out her bow. It was a common sense that the dark elves were a race that was adept at handling the bow. Marifa’s arrow bolted off and hit the trees overhead the party. Only the wood chips fell and hit them.

“Hahaha, what was that? It missed by far. This dark elf isn’t skilled at all.”

Charon was taking precautions since she was one of Yu’s party members but seeing her arrow miss, he was relieved. The other party members were also smiling and mocking her.

“Hahaha, I was scared for a moment there. Pretty girl, how about you come with me? I’ll make sure to give you lots of love. Uaaaaah~”
The man who was talking suddenly crouched down. His body was sweating and just by looking at him, he was not in good condition.

“Hey, what happened? Gaaah!”

Charon tried to help the man but suddenly he also felt severe pain creeping on his body. Charon looked around and saw that the remaining party members were also in the same condition.

“Don’t you know the graveness of your sins?”
Marifa was now looking down at Charon with Sukke by her side. Charon noticed that at Marifa’s hands, there were some wriggling things. At first it looked like a regular black dress glove. However if one looked closer, the black glove was made up from several thousands living ants.

“Th-th-that are insects? Ugh…”

The insects on Marifa’s hands were called ‘Bullet Ants’. The ants’ bite could cause terrible pain and the real effect doesn’t need to be explained.

“So… you missed… your arrow… on purpose.”

Charon knew that he didn’t have much time remaining. One by one, his party members died because of shock caused by the severe pain.

One of them managed to resist and tried to throw a hatchet towards her but Coro came out from the shadows and bit the man’s wrist. It was disconnected from his arm instantly.

“Gyaaa! My arm!”

“Coro, that’s not good. Eating filthy thing can hurt your stomach.”
Marifa as if she was deaf, ignored the screams and stroked Coro’s head. She took the wrist from Coro’s mouth and threw it aside. Sukke was also rubbing his head on Marifa’s feet.

“Charon, the leader of ‘Authority Leaf’. Let me end your suffering.”
Charon didn’t understand what Marifa was saying. His whole body was cringing because of the intense pain. There was no need to do anything else to kill him.

“Let’s play!”

Charon was feeling pain all over his body but he already prepared a means of escape, the second rank 【Black Magic】, 《Fire Wall》. A wall of fire, around 5 meters tall separated himself and Marifa. That scorching pillar even enveloped his party members who didn’t have the strength left to flee.

Th echoing screams of the dying ‘Authority Leaf’ members could be heard as Marifa tried to extinguish the fire using the first rank 【Spirit Magic】, 《Water Ball》. There were only the charred corpses of the ‘Authority Leaf’ members remaining.

“Even after killing his own companions, he is still fleeing alone. Well, there is still Nina and Lena.”
Next to Marifa, Coro and Sukke only tilted their necks, confused.

The girls had caught up with Yu when he was battling Charon. At that moment, Marifa’s sharp hearing cought Charon’s plan for running away. The girls understood that Yu would treat the fairies first so they decided to catch Charon with their own hands.

Marifa was waiting at the intersection while Lena was at the door to 11thF and Nina was at the teleport pedestal. However, Nina and Lena didn’t saw anybody pass by. Marifa didn’t want to use the teleport pedestal to search the entrance since she was currently acting without considering her master’s orders. Although she couldn’t kill Charon, at least she was able to injure him greatly.

At the entrance to the 〈Wood Garden〉 dungeon a man was walking and limpling. It was so hard for him to even walk a couple of meters.

“Guu… I made it… huuf, to think I needed to use a third rank potion.”

The man was Charon. The moment he casted 《Fire Wall》, he had also burned himself in order to kill the bullet ants. The price that he had to pay in order to escape was so great- the burns on his body, he even had to sacrifice a high rank teleport stone. This item couldn’t be bought at the item shop, even at the capital only some noble could acquire it. Even the third rank potion couldn’t heal his current condition.

“I need to go back to the city… no… I need to return to the capital. When I get some reinforcements, let’s see what kind of face that brat is gonna show me. There’s one of Houdon kingdom top 5 knights. Even if that brat is strong, what can he do against him?”

“Sir, what happened to you?”
In front of Charon, an old man in butler clothing appeared. Charon immediately raised his guard. He even prepared to take out the dagger that was attached to his waist. The forest of marma was relatively safe but it was before the dungeon was found. Right now, there’s no way a commoner would come to this place. For that reason, this old man was suspicious and made Charon wary.

“Butler’s appearance… old man, are you that dark elf’s  friend?”

“Dark elf? I don’t know what you’re talking about but are you from the ‘Authority Leaf’?”

“Yes, that’s right. I’m the leader of ‘Authority Leaf’, Charon. I wonder why you asked.”

“Hoo… you are Charon Vladez? Your appearance is different from my image so it was hard to recognize you.”

“So what if I looked different. What is your business?”

“You might not even understand how different your appearance is. However I am happy to have found you here. Although it is late, my name is Nungu.”

Nungu said that while holding a mirror that reflected Charon’s appearance. He screamed when he saw his own reflection.

“What is this? Is this really me?”
Charon’s face was something like a barnacle. Small larvae could be seen moving under the skin on hs face.

“Did you perhaps encounter an insect master? If you don’t take care of them quickly, they will hatch inside your body and eat it from inside.”
“HUAA! This must be the work of that dark elf! I won’t forgive her. I’ll kill her when we meet again. Ah, it’s so itchy. My face, arm, legs, my whole body is itchy.”

Charon took off his charred armor and rolled on the ground. On his body, bulging flesh like a ballon could be seen and from the insides, a small larvae hatched. Each time it happened, Charon tasted extreme pain that he could never even imagine.

“Well, I also have an errand for Charon-san. Can you deliver a message?”

“Ugh… what is it?”

“Dogs of the minister aren’t allowed to roam in my territory. Everyone that comes to Comer city will suffer a nightmare. Please convey the message.”

“Y-Yo–”
Charon wanted to say something but he was interrupted. His eyes that were looking at Nungu turned backwards and lost he finally ran out of energy.

“Ah, I have to thank Yu-san. Meat pies will be good.”
After once again confirming Charon’s death, Nungu disappeared into the forest.

Chapter 93: Eradicating ‘Authority Leaf’

In these past 4 months, I think that my translation is getting better. It wasn’t the best, it wasn’t good for some people but I try to improve myself as time goes by. I really appreciate for those who helped me. Enough with the rant… here’s the chapter.)

Nina was traveling back from the 37thF and by now she had reached the 22ndF. Yu was unexpectedly easy to track. As wherever he had walked through, there had been dead bodies of monsters lying around. Yu only needed one hit on their heads to take care of the obstacles.

Despite Yu moving while killing monsters, Nina was still unable to catch up to him.
“Mari-chan, let’s increase our speed.”
“Understood.”

……….

“Oi! We must catch that kid alive.”
With those words, Charon explained to the remaining members of the ‘Authority Leaf’ what their main goal was. However they couldn’t bring themselves to accept it.

“Charon, why don’t we kill that brat and just catch the dryad?”

The other men agreed but Charon did not.
“I haven’t told you the details but if the capture of the dryad is important, the mission to kidnap a brat named Yu Sato is even more valuable. I also questioned myself when I heard this but that kid knows how to use 【Alchemy】 . If capturing a dryad bring us money, catching that brat will raise my rank to noble-hood. Of course if I’m appointed as a noble, your rank will also be increased to knighthood.”

Filthy smiles appeared on their faces. The knighthood rank was really appealing to them.

“Even though some of our comrades had fallen, we can’t let their sacrifices go in vain. That boy is our goal. Now, you need to keep him busy while I’m preparing my magic.”
That was Charon’s plan to success.

Yu was expanding his 《Heaven’s Net》 like a cobweb and each of the ends was connected to the fairies. Through the 《Heaven’s Net》, Yu casted 《Recovery Spell》 on them. There was a large number of fairies but not a single one was overlooked.

Charon noticed what Yu was doing and decided that the best time to attack was before he had finished treating the fairies.

“I’ll cast my magic. You guys keep him busy!”

The members of ‘Authority Leaf’ replied to Charon instructions vigorously. Their spirits were high as they prepared their weapons. Charon on the other hand was now preparing the fifth rank 【Elemental Magic】 , 《Iron Tempest》. That was Charon’s most powerful spell. Using the iron spirit which was abundant inside the ground, he gathered and formed iron blades. The iron blades rotated at high speed and grinded everything that came into contact with it. Of course Charon made sure to control his power so Yu wouldn’t die when he got hit.

(Tl note: the rough translation is iron mixer/ blender lol.. just to give rough idea how the spell looks like)

“Charon, do you still need time?”
“I’m trying my best!”

Charon cast the skill while the ‘Authority Leaf’ members supported him. It was only an earth element skill. However it seemed that he had a hard time finishing the spell.

[What happened? The amount of earth spirits is only half the usual!] – Charon

Charon experienced an unexpected thing. The earth spirits needed to complete the fifth rank 【Elemental Magic】 , 《Iron Tempest》 weren’t enough.

“Argh, take this!”

Since he was pressured by the men, Charon shot his imperfect spell. Right now, Yu couldn’t dodge this 《Iron Tempest》 since the dryad and the fairies were located behind him.

The sharp blades of iron were coming to cut him to pieces.

The dryad and fairies were shouting but they couldn’t do anything to change Yu’s fate.

The high speed rotating blade collided with something which caused a bright spark.

[The spell rotation is slower than usual. The power isn’t even 1/3 of the normal.] -Charon,
despite the other members’ cheers, was dissatisfied.

The speed of the rotating iron blade gradually became slow and it disappeared along with the earth spirits. The ‘Authority Leaf ‘ members were excited to see what Yu looked like now but he came out unscathed while holding his magic shield in one hand. There was no sign of even a small scratch on his body.

“How is this possible?”
“Is he using 《Stone Wall》, no, this is 《Iron Wall》. That brat can use 【Shield Skills】!”
“Idiot! Charon-san’s 《Iron Tempest》 is a fifth rank spell. How can an 《Iron Wall》 block it?”
“But he did block it!”

Charon shouted his commands to calm down his party members.
“Don’t panic. Just aim for the fairies. That brat is protecting the fairies.” (Charon)
“That’s right, there’s no way he can protect the fairies and fight at the same time.”

When Charon issued the order, the remaining members rushed to attack the fairies.
However they couldn’t come close since the fairies who had been healed, casted their long ranged attack spells. The ‘Authority Leaf’ were once again forced to gather around Charon.

“Charon, what should we do now?”
“Maybe we should retreat and request reinforcements.” (Charon)
“So, should we give up on the dryad?”
“This brat’s 《Recovery Spell》 is formidable. The fairies are healed already.”

Even though Charon explained the situation, there were still hard headed members. He tried to cast an 《Earth Lance》 however it was blocked by Yu’s 【Barrier】.

“No matter what, we need to defeat the boy.”
No one refuted what Charon said and the other party members started to move forward while Charon started preparing another magic.

“Take this you brat!”
The man who was using a sword tried to pounce on Yu however before he was able to attack, his neck fell to the ground because of Yu’s 《lightning Strike》. The others were stunned seeing that and tried to escape.

“I won’t let you get away.”
Yu used 《Whirlwind Strike》 at one of the remaining members. It was a quick wide horizontal area attack.

“What’s that? Something just passed by my stomach… Uargh.”
The speed was so formidable that the man didn’t realize that his upper and lower body had been separated. Slowly his upper body shifted to the side and fell to the ground. Seeing that, the remaining members were moving to the entrance of the hidden garden.

“I will kill every one of you.”
The remaining members that were still alive had not gotten out scot free. Some had suffered missing limbs and some were in shock because of the attack. They were now busy fleeing.

Since Yu had almost finished treating the fairies, some were already able to move.
“Hey, are you going to let them get away?” (fairy)
“Thank you for the help earlier. You defended me when I was treating everyone.” (Yu)
“So, do you realized how strong I am? Are you willing to be my subordinate?” (fairy)

The fairies were now flying around Yu’s head annoyingly again. Right now Yu was prioritizing healing the fairies then chasing after Charon. It was bad letting him get away but he don’t know why he felt that he needed to heal the fairies first.

“Yu-chan, thank you.”
The dryad hugged Yu with a runny nose and teary eyes.

“Aw, you’re making me dirty. Wipe your nose first!”
Yu was trying to push the dryad’s face away from clinging to him but wasn’t having any luck. Some of the fairies were even laughing at the sight.

“Are you going to leave now?”
The dryad and fairies were anxious seeing Yu preparing his equipment.

“I still have something to do.”
Yu said that because they were all watching him with troubled faces.

“After I take care of the problem in the lower levels I’ll return.”

“Baka! Just get beaten by the demons on the lower levels!”

However that kind of reply had been anticipated by Yu.
“So, are you going to leave this place?”

The dryad smiled at his question.
“Maybe in the future. However right now this place is one of the safest in the dungeon.” She replied with such a timid confidence that caused the fairies to strike her head from the back.

“Why are you talking like that? If we aren’t careless, no human can find this place.”

Yu waved his hand and walked away without looking back.
“Everyone, I’m leaving.”

“Take care!”

The fairies and the dryad replied cheerfully. Once again, Yu didn’t notice that a small fairy sneaked into his headgear while he was leaving.

I wish they used that to illustrate Eckart, the kimutsuki flower girls(Anita, Bell, Ann, Moran and Memetto) or maybe Siam but well, that’s their decision…

Chapter 92: Domino effect

And someone tell me the third volume is out, I was considering buying the kindle for the complete illustration. However when I logged in to my amazon.co.jp the book isn’t available to purchase… since my residence is outside Japan T_T so if someone managed to get the kindle or the complete illustration please kindly give me the link so I can incorporate it to the translation)

It was a strange sight.

Inside the C rank dungeon 〈Wood Garden〉 , at the 14th floor, a boy with his whole body covered by blood, stood.

Although the men had been smiling until a moment ago, seeing the boy in front of them bedazled them for an instant.

“What are you looking at boy? Are you asking for a beating?”
“This fairy is mine because I’m the one who caught it. You bette–”

The man who was holding the fairy tried to intimidate the boy by pressuring him with his tone and speach. However the man stopped before finishing his sentence. His two friends had noticed that something was wrong.

“Bora, what’s wrong? He’s just a small brat. Why are you acting like this?”
“Maybe Bora is playing with us. Hahaha, Bora!”

However they saw something strange. From behind Bora’s head, something was sprouting. It was a blood stained metal, 15 cm long and 2cm wide. The men then realized what the thing coming out from Bora was.

A sword had pierced through Bora’s thick skull and brain and came out from his mouth.

“Don’t touch the fairy with your filthy hands.”

With Bora dead, his body slowly fell back and his right hand which had been holding the fairy opened. Before the fairy fell to the ground, Yu cought her with his left hand.

“Hiie! Bo-Bo-Bora is dead!”
“This brat is courting death!”

One of the frenzied men tried to attack Yu, however Yu’s free right hand easily punched the man in the jaw. However the power behind it wasn’t that of a simple punch’s. The man’s jaw was blown off and flew in the sky.

The other man tried to run away after witnessing his fallen comrade however Yu had already casted the second rank 【Black magic】, 《Earth Lance》. The hard spear skewered the man from below and piercing trough his head.

The two men were greatly wounded however they were not dead yet.
(Tl note: why I feel Yu deliberately didn’t finish them off otherwise their wound is kind of impossible for them to stay alive.)

The two men didn’t know what had happened to them but they tried to take out some potions from their item bags. In the mean time, Yu walked to Bora and retrieved his sword. On the way he beheaded the dead body. The other two didn’t know what expression they had as they watched their grim reaper approach.

“We need to hurry.”
Yu talked to the fairy that nodded and wiped her tears away.

……..

On the 12thF, there was a small passage next to the teleport pedestal that led to the flower garden where the dryad and the fairies lived. Usually this passage was hidden by the fairies’  magic. The sight behind it, was a paradise where the lovely fairies, beautiful dryad and blooming flowers lived. All who saw the scene would be grateful and thank God. However the place now had turned into hell.

“Looks like we have all who were gathered here. Good!”

The fairies used all of their remaining MP to summon a wall.

“You can run but you can’t hide.”

Charon utilized the fourth rank 【Black magic】, 《Hurricane》 and blew away the wall. The flower beds were wrecked and some of the fairies were torn up by the sharp wind. The sign that the flowers and the cheerful fairies existed were all buried deep in the ground.

“Stop! Please, let everyone go!”
The one who cried out was the dryad. She was surrounded by 30 people and including Charon they ware all showing ugly smiles.

“Charon, how about we play with the dryad?”

“Idiot! Don’t you know the price of a dryad is 100 white gold but a pure one can be sold for 500 white gold. Make sure not even a scratch is visible on her body. Even these fairies can be sold for 10 gold coins each. Understand?”

“Yes sir…”
The man looked disappointed and looked down to the fairies that were caught in the cage in his hand.

“Dryad-chan. Just tell the fairies to surrender so we don’t need to have more casualties. Why don’t you tell them to give up?”

“Everyone…I’m sorry… let’s surrender.” (dryad-Chan)
“No! How can we surrender to guys like them.” (fairy a)
“Even if I die, I will protect the dryad.”(fairy b)
“No… look at all the blood.” (dryad-Chan)

There were many fairies protecting the dryad however their bodies weren’t in a good state.
“You are such a crybaby dryad. Don’t worry, I will protect you.” (fairy a)

“Wah, this is so touching. Someone, please help them.”
Charon said that while sending an eye signal to one of his men. Not long after, a man carrying a morningstar on his shoulder stepped forward.(Tl note: you guys know morningstar right? A club with spiky ball at the end lol.)

The fairies knew that they will meet their end. However no fairies ran away and they continued to protect the dryad.

“Charon, what should we do?”

“Oh, we have gathered enough fairies. As for them, you can do anything you want.”

“Hahaha, letting me kill 10 gold coins fairies, I’m glad I entered the ‘Authority Leaf’.”

The morningstar was swung down towards the fairies. The huge shadow of the morningstar could be seen enveloping the fairies’ faces into darkness. They could imagine what was going to happen next. The fairies closed their eyes while the attacker had a wide smile.

“Hahaha, look, those fairies even turned into minced meat. Look at this beautiful mess.”
Charon said that to the group because some pieces of meat was blown away in his direction. However they soon noticed that the amount of splattered flesh was to much to have come from a few fairies.

“Charon… look… this isn’t the fairies.”

The upper body of the man who had swung the morningstar was missing. Only the lower body was left at the place he was standing. In front of the remains, a boy was standing. His whole body was colored red while some of the fairies were clinging to him. It was an eerie sight.

“You! Who are you? Are you the one who killed Butch?”(Charon)
“Yu-chan… Yu-chan…” (fairies)
The fairies were clinging to him with tears and runny noses. Even the usual calm dryad was shouting.

The fairies soon noticed that Yu was on their side and was not helping the ‘Authority Leaf’. Yu was relieved but his face darkened when he saw the devastation on the flower bedding.

“They dare to deprive… I’ll make them pay for this.” (Yu)

“How dare he kill Butch!”

The men were going to attack Yu when they realized that he was the one that had killed Butch.

“Wait! Under you!”
Charon whose real job was an 【Element Master】 , a similar profession to 【Magician】 or 【Wizard】, noticed that from Yu’s feet, a web like existence had spread out. However his warning was too late.

Every men’s thighs, were pierced by Yu’s second rank 【Black magic】, 《Earth Lance》.

“Gyaaa!”
“Uaaa!”

“Noisy… Die!!!”

Yu increased the magic output and the 《Earth Lance》 bloomed. From the impaling 《Earth Lance》, branches grew just like a tree, eating away at the men’s bodies. After countless screams, caused by the severe pain, the 《Earth Lance》 had fully bloomed. Red blood dripping from their branches’ ends like flowers.

“Tch, they are all stupid. I already warned them.” (Charon)
“Charon, what do we do? Everyone is dying!”
Out of the group, three men that stayed after hearing Charon’s warning were still alive.

“Calm down. This happened because that boy is actually pretending to be a vanguard. While in reality he is a rear guard like me. This was caused by his web like magic. Just calm down.”

Hearing Charon’s words, the men regained their composure.

“Now, we already know the tricks. It’s going to be easy.”

The four men were closing in while avoiding Yu’s 《Heaven’s Net》. They noticed that the web wasn’t moving so it was only a simple trap.

“Alright!”
“Let’s close in.”
“This brat is going to die.”
“We’re going to avenge Butch!”

The four men used all kinds of different weapons. Sword, ax, spear, hammer, all those weapons were aiming at Yu. However no one predicted what happened next, not even Charon. The four’s attacks were intercepted barehanded.

Their weapons were all reflected after coming in contact with Yu’s fist. Then Yu took out his sword and attacked them without mercy.

“Charon, you said that this brat is only a rear guard. How can he be so strong?”

“《Release Internal Power》.”(Charon)

“Ah, yes, there’s no mistake. I’ve seen Elda-san using this 《Release Internal Power》 skill.”

“So, this brat can use 【Combat Maneuver】.”

“But, how can this kid use that skill?”

“Isn’t that skill limited to close combatant professions?”

“Wait, what did the dryad call him?”(Charon)

“Yu?”
“Yu…”(Charon)

“What about it?”
“If we catch him, we would be able to become nobles.”(Charon)

Despite seeing eight of his companions being killed in the blink of an eye, Charon was smiling.
No one noticed that the domino effect kept on getting bigger.
